The music, food, and even the language has deep roots of African heritage that enriches this region. The airport is located in Bahia Solano and you can take a tuk tuk to El Valle, about a 40 minute ride from the airport.

Captured and Edited by Farhanah Ali For easier reading, I am going to break this down to 4 parts, where I stayed, what I did, the advice I recommend for any Coolombia travellers to the area, and my reflections on the entire journey. The reason being because there was the most to source in that area. Although El Valle has many different accommodations, I stayed at 2 different hostels. The first is Mama Orbe. Mama Orbe is a family run eco-farm that is literally right across from the beach. This place is so beautiful and has a nature walk right behind the property where if you go early enough you can see toucans and monkeys!
