Apparently, this track was part of an EP that tells the story of a young woman struggling for her emancipation. Although a standard indie-pop beat, something about the vocals absolutely had me stunned even on this second listen. They are dramatic, beautiful, full of emotion, and just absolutely captivating. Every word is enunciated perfectly which is a feat what with so much power coming in from the instrumentation behind the vocals. All in all, this opening track is not only epic but also invites you into the world that is Evelyn Valancourt in the best way.
