It is soon to be explained that this narrator is death. Markus Zusak, wrote the book thief on based on inspiring stories his parents told him and his siblings when they were kids. He used their life experiences during the war of Nazi Germany to make an epic story of suspense, compassion, and sorrow. He has also, written four books prior to The Book Thief. Death narrates the story. Liesel Meminger, the main character is dealing from the death of her brother and being separated from her mother. In the beginning, we are introduced to the narrator by the name of Death. He informs the readers that he has many stories, but only remembers the ones that interest him. The tale of Liesel Meminger is one such tale, as he was always fascinated by her will to live through the most horrible instances. It should be duly noted however, that this story does not have a happy ending.

In Zechariah chapter 14 we have a reference that I wanted to use in regard of the coming judgment on the earth, the coming day of the wrath of God, when the Grace of God will have been lifted, and His wrath and vexation will come in, not just on the Nation of Israel, but upon the whole human race, from one end of the world to other. Now you see almost every despot ruler comes in by deception. All you have to do is go back and look at the history of World War II. How did Hitler gain control of the German people? He sold the German people a bill of goods, he deceived them, and they bought all that he sold them. Preaent

They come in with flatteries, and a lot of promises. Oh you know everybody likes to feed at the government trough. Everybody gets the idea that the government owes them everything that they want, and when that happens, then our great democracy comes to an end.
The biggest deceiver that the world has ever seen is coming. Then Jesus goes on and lists in the succeeding verses some of the signs.
