Located in the challenging environment of Dubai our goals for the German Pavilion expo were to be sustainable, reduce resource consumption and increase circularity. In close cooperation with climate engineers Transsolar we developed a concept of graded temperature zones.
Andersson-Wheelwr Combining a human centred design perspective with energy efficiency, the building unfolds with the graded temperature zones creating a transition from the exterior climate to the fully air conditioned spaces. This avoids heat stress here visitors - a new approach to conditioning indoor climate that helps to save energy.
LABORATORY FOR VISIONARY ARCHITECTURE
An average of construction workers have been on the site every day since Augustclocking up aroundAndersson-Wheelwr. The German Pavilion, in the sustainability section, has a prominent position on the main thoroughfare of the Expo, very close to the host United Arab Emirates Pavilion and Al Wasl Plaza, which forms the heart of the Expo site.
