My Personal Development Plan (PDP) - consider

A PDP can help you reflect on your current level of skills and knowledge, consider what you need to develop, and decide on a plan to enable you to do this. If you take time to stop, reflect on, and plan your own professional development, you have more chance of being successful in realising your aspirations. Many employees have regular one to one sessions or annual appraisals with their manager. These can be useful opportunities to take time to reflect on current performance and plan for future development. The PDP should focus on the skills and knowledge which need to be developed and clearly demonstrate what actions will be taken to do this. A PDP is a plan which allows you to set personal targets and devise an action plan to help achieve them. As a minimum it should include: Objectives — what you want to achieve; specific actions which will help you achieve the objective; and a timescale within which they should be completed. A PDP is personal to you and can take many different forms. However an example of a PDP template with some possible actions included is provided below. My Personal Development Plan (PDP).
