G Jung During the Summer of , I experienced a small mental breakdown. I could not control my emotions or feelings. My whole life was spinning out of control and I had nothing to hold on to. My regular activities and support systems were slowly failing to keep me afloat. It felt like I was being slowly submerged under water with no help. When my life started to look bleak, I was able to seek help from many mental health professionals that helped me learn that I was suffering with generalized and social anxiety disorder. I was able to see how different techniques and theories were being used in my therapy sessions. These helpful mental health professionals, heightened my passion to become a marriage and family therapist. Since this experience, my decision to become a Marriage and Family Therapist was solidified. Before my own mental health issues, I had no real experiences or discussions about anxiety and depression.
