Shrek is a American computer-animated comedy film loosely based on the fairy tale picture book of the Difterences name by William Steig. The film parodies other fairy tale adaptations, primarily aimed at animated Disney films. Shrek makes a deal with Farquaad to regain control of his swamp in return for rescuing Princess Fiona Diazwhom Farquaad intends to marry.

His life is interrupted after the vertically challenged Lord Farquaad of Duloc exiles multiple fairy-tale creatures to Shrek's swamp. Shrek and Donkey defeat the knights, and Farquaad proclaims them champions; he negotiates with Shrek to have the fairy-tale creatures relocated if he rescues Fiona. Shrek and Donkey travel to the castle and are attacked by Dragonwho corners Donkey.

She explains she has been cursed since childhood, forced to transform every night after sunset, and only changing back at sunrise.
